Graffiti Goose

Graffiti Goose, a game I worked heavily on, has been released. As I've mentioned before, it's a paint based puzzle game. The goal is to combine colors while staying in the boundaries and not making brown. This was a joint venture with Red Triangle Games, a small gaming company like my own. The game is available on Android Devices through the Google Play market place.

Tim-Tim and a Goose

So, I've been working on 2 games mainly lately. The first game is one I've been working on off and on for years. It's the sequel to my game Tim-Tim "The Mighty Gnome". The sequel is moving along smoothly and I hope to get it down some time next year. Tim-Tim 2: "The Awesome Gnome" stands to be the best game I've ever made.

The other game I'm working on is a joint venture with Red Triangle Games that's being called Graffiti Goose. This is a paint based puzzle game that's being designed with android phones in mind. With it's current progress this game should be done shortly.

Current Events

I'm going to be a dad!
That's not the normal news I post on this blog, but it does give some insight as to the progress of Spoonweaver Studios' projects.

The first thing I'd like to bring up is the pixel art book I've contributed to. This is a book put together by Studio Momo. I'm not one to normally call myself an artist, but some people seem to think otherwise. Anyways, the book can be found on Amazon. It costs about $18 (US). I wasn't too happy with that information myself, but it's Studio Momo's first book so let's all give them a chance.

Next, there's a little project currently being called Graffiti Goose. This is a game I'm working on with Red Triangle Games. It's basically a puzzle game that involves painting and combining colors and should be available for Android in a month or two. Pictured to the left is a rough sketch of the HUD produced by Red Triangle Games.

Troll Over

I made this game for the 2014 Indie Game Maker Contest found here.
The game's contest entry page can be found here:
http://contest.rpgmakerweb.com/game/view/id/478#.U7Gn_bGFdQU
Please visit the page, comment, and vote.

Troll Over is an RPG where you play as a troll. He find a human knocked out in the woods and decides to befriend the human. Together they venture forth and have adventures, such as seeking out an evil warlock to join his evil army. Troll Over is designed to be different then normal rpgs in a lot of little ways. I hope you enjoy it.

Contest, Kickstarters and Viral Marketing Campaigns

So, the first thing to talk about is that productivity has never been higher here at Spoonweaver Studios. Work is being consistently done on the game Iron Galaxy. Kruntorvas is coming along nicely. Plus, both Legendary Heroes and Kinvesard have updates planned for the end of the year. All fours of these games are on track and doing great. Tim-Tim 2 and Technofunk Shipotron are currently on hold however, with no specific release date in sight.

The next important thing is the marketing being done. As you can see in the picture to the left here, Both Slimeomancy and Cat in Box are being advertised around town. This is currently only being done in Tampa, FL. However, if you count yourself as one of the few and proud Spoonweaver Studios fans, please consider printing out and posting some flyers. Here's a link to the flyer: http://tinyurl.com/o54cayq

Next, there's the contest I'm entering. It's offering large cash prizes and also the promise of exposure, so I'm hoping I perform well. A sneak peak of my entry can be seen HERE. The contest can be found here: http://contest.rpgmakerweb.com/

Lastly, Spoonweaver Studios has begun working on 2 Kickstarter campaigns that it plans to launch towards the end of the year. One campaign for Kruntorvas and one for Iron Galaxy. This is being done because even though the two projects are both moving along studly, without the attention they need it will likely take years and years until they are complete. However, it's also being done in order to try to elevate these games to the next level of the Indie game community.

So as you may notice, things are pretty busy here. Wish us luck!

Iron Galaxy (Pre-Alpha)

Iron Galaxy is a game I'm currently working on with the help from a very talented artist. He likes to go by the handle Blasted Earth and is relatively unknown as an indie game graphic artist despite being very talented.
The game centers around mech pilots (Mechs being giant robots). In the game you control squads of mechs on a grid and fight enemies in a tradition rpg style. There are currently 25 mechs planned as well as 6 main ships, 10 mini games and 50+ levels.
Unlike my previous projects, we're aiming to make Iron Galaxy as well known as possible. This includes trying our hand at Kickstarter, Steam Greenlight, Press Releases, as well as multiple platform ports.
The game is available in a pre-alpha state for a limited time. The plan is to leave it available like this until the end of June in order to get valuable feedback on the game before moving forward with the project.

-Only available for a limited time.

It costs .99 cents, so I hope you'll buy it.
Thanks for the interest.

Code Name: Kruntovas

So,work has been pretty solid on my newest game that I'm currently calling Kruntovas. As you can see on the left here, the world map is done. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I've also done a lot of graphical work on the characters and the backgrounds.
A lot of the programming still needs to be done though, and not many of the hundreds of monsters and other obstacles planned have been done at all. Also, the intro needs tons of work, the menu system isn't really working yet, and the characters don't have working stats.
However, things are going smoother than most of my projects have been going for almost a year now. I don't know if I've just got a sudden surge of passion for game making or if I just really like this particular game but whatever the case, this game is actually ahead of schedule. Don't expect it to be rearing it's crazy little head any time soon mind you, but there's a good chance it will be complete by the end of next year at the very latest.
Let's hope I can keep up my pace and have this thing in "stores" in time for Christmas.

Kruntovas and other projects

Like I posted about before, I'm currently working on several different projects. I'm trying to pick which ones to finish and which ones to bench, but I haven't really decided yet. The games are Dreadful Occupant, Kinvesard, Legendary Heroes, Slimeomancy, Technofunk Shipotron, Tim-Tim 2, and Kruntovas: The Gilded Path.
I've written about most of the games mentioned here, and in fact some of them are pretty close to finished. Dreadful Occupant and Slimeomancy both just need some polish to be ready to port to ouya and android. Kinvesard and Legendary Heroes are both on going projects that I'll likely update towards the end of this year. Tim-Tim 2 hit a large snag when I lost a lot of the progress I had made in it when the computer I was working on completely broke.Technofunk Shipotron and Kruntovas are both new projects I've started which might have been a bad move. I'll likely try to regroup and finish some of my other projects before continuing on these two.

Kruntovas: The Gilded Path ( not the final name ) is a game I've been thinking up for a while now. It's basically a travel based RPG. Instead of the standard Zelda like movement on an open map that most RPGs feature, Kruntovas features a travel system more akin to the game Oregon Trail. I'm planning on letting players control more than 20 characters at once, travel to more than 50 different areas, confront over 1000 different obstacles and ultimately defeat the Demon Dragon of Death!

Things and Stuff

I'm working on a lot of projects right now. One of which is called Technofunk Supertron, which is going to be a space shooter like R-type. (Pictured here) I'm also working one Slimeomancy, Tim-Tim 2, Kinvesard, and Legendary Heroes. The person I'm working with for Dreadful Occupant kinda spaced. My project plate has gotten a bit full so I'm trying to focus on just one of them for a while and hopefully I'll be releasing something soon.
